We know that Apple has been working on expanding its iPad range for some time. The company, which recently introduced the new iPad with eSIM support and the Apple Pen with USB-C, is rumored to be making innovations in the Air family. Accordingly, an iPad Air with a 12.9-inch screen may be offered.
iPad Air 12.9-inch in development
Apple is developing a version of the iPad Air with a 12.9-inch screen, according to reports from China. A report based on industry sources revealed that the tech giant will add a new one to the 10.9-inch Air model.
The new version would mark the first time the iPad Air would go beyond the 10.9-inch size. It’s worth noting that Apple already has both 11-inch and 12.9-inch versions of its Pro lineup.
Although details are unclear, it is claimed that the 12.9-inch Air will use LCD display technology instead of mini-LED on the Pro of the same size. This will make it possible to offer the big-screen tablet with a lower price tag compared to the Pro.
Rumors of an iPad Air with multiple screen sizes have surfaced in recent months. If we evaluate the leaks together, we can say that Apple will introduce the sixth generation iPad Air powered by the M2 chip in the coming months.
The 12.9-inch iPad Air is expected to be priced between 600-800 dollars. The 10.9-inch Air is currently on sale for $600, while the 11-inch iPad Pro starts at $800. This will also heat up the competition between Air and Pro.
